Jim Spring, Deputy Cowley County Attorney Dies

Deputy Cowley County Attorney Jim Spring has died.

Newscow.net reports that Spring died suddenly at home Sunday. He was 57.

Spring had previously served as Cowley County Attorney 2000 to 2004 but lost his re-election bid to current Cowley County Attorney Chris Smith. He was serving as a deputy county attorney for Smith at the time of his death.

Spring also served as a board member of Cowley County Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Winfield.
