A Sedgwick County Jail deputy charged with sexually assaulting inmates made his first appearance in court Tuesday and the number of victims he's accused of assaulting has tripled.
A court document details the 12 counts against David Kendall. Eleven of those counts are criminal sex acts involved six victims.
Tuesday, the judge at Kendall's first appearance said the charges against him are serious enough for a half-million dollar bond.
Kendall appeared in person with his attorney, who asked the judge to lower the bond.
When Kendall was first arrested last Tuesday, his bond was set at $100,000.
He met the bond and was re-released only to be arrested again on Friday with five more counts of criminal activity against him. At that time the bond was set at $500,000.
Tuesday, the judge denied the motion to lower Kendall's bond.
According to the court document, all of the criminal acts Kendall is charged with happened sometime between April 1 and June 3 of this year.
