A man suffering from serious injuries from a beating was hospitalized after going to Wichita police officers for help. Investigators say the man walked up to the officers as they were conducting a traffic stop at Dodge Avenue and Irving Street in west Wichita just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Sgt. Scott Brunow says the two officers were approached by the 31-year-old man, who had facial injuries and was highly intoxicated.

"He was able to tell us that he was attacked by three to four unknown persons at an unknown location," says Brunow.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Due to the man's condition, he was unable to give police much information about the suspects who hurt him or where the attack happened.
