Homeowners in Wichita are seeing more spiders around their homes in the last two weeks.
"It's an absolute nuisance. It's mother nature at work, so, we've got to do that to control it," said Dave Thompson, whose daughter's house had a brown recluse spider problem.
In the last few weeks, Flint Hills at Brown Reclusinator Pest Control answered nearly a hundred phone calls about fleas, termites, and spiders.
He said a mild winter and longer spring have delayed the appearance of spiders until now.
"The heat in the attic and things like that are driving them down," Hills said.
He also said that glue boards are ineffective at stopping spiders from reproducing.
"Probably about 90% of what they're going to find on those glue boards are going to be males. Whereas the females that are making all the babies are the ones that are going to be in the attics," he said.
His advice is to pull beds away from walls, make sure bed skirts are not touching the floor, and shake all clothes and shoes to make sure there are no spiders.
