A tragedy last week in Hutchinson has left three children without their parents. Now the entire community is embracing the kids as their own.
Last week, police found the body of 41 year-old Wilfrida Masabah in the home of her boyfriend. Police say she'd been murdered with a hatchet. The suspect in the case, her estranged husband Hoseah Kaminja.

Tuesday police in New Mexico found the body of a man believed to be Kaminja. Now 21 year-old Juliet, 18 year-old Osman and 12 year-old Samantha are left orphaned. Osman's co-workers at a retirement facility are holding a fundraiser for the kids.

"In order to help these kids get their schooling done and take a good direction to give back to their community in the future, we need to take care of them right now," said the fundraiser co-chair Lindsey Thiessen.

The Masabah Family Memorial fund is set up at the First National Bank in Hutchinson. Organizers are also holding an all-day fundraising event at the state fairgrounds on October 23rd from 6:30 in the morning until 7 o'clock that night. There will be a silent auction, a garage sale, kids events and lots and lots of food. If you want to help, email Lindsey Thiessen at thiessenl@promiseregional.com or call her at 620-665-2495.
