Hutchinson Police jailed
A 21-year-old Hutchinson man was arrested Friday in connection more than 30 burglaries of area businesses this summer.
Police Detective Jamie Schoenhoff told the Hutchinson News that Michael Morgan could face approximately 90 charges, including burglary, criminal damage and theft.
Police identified Morgan from surveillance videos. Officers are still investigating whether Morgan acted alone, as well as his possible involvement in other burglaries.
This week, four Hutchinson businesses and the Hutchinson Zoo were burglarized. In the last month, more than 30 businesses were broken into, including most recently 21 Santa Fe, Mi Tierra, Fashionista and Rent-A-Center. Cash and miscellaneous items were taken from many of the businesses.
Morgan is also facing charges for possession of opiates or narcotics and fleeing law enforcement and reckless driving.
He’s being held in the Reno County Jail on a $193,000 bond.
