A former Hutchinson bonding agent has been arrested again on sex crime charges.
Dwight Jurgens, 66, showed up Friday for what he thought was a pre-trial hearing in a prostitution case only to learn of the new charges, the Hutch Post reports. The charges include two counts of human trafficking, two counts of counts of attempted aggravated human trafficking, one count of aggravated criminal sodomy and one count of rape unable to consent.
Jail records show Jurgens' bond was set at $100,000, which he has posted.
In September of last year, Jurgens was arrested on misdemeanor charges of promoting prostitution. That case was dismissed Friday.
Jurgens had been a bonding agent for TNT Bonding in Hutchinson for several years. The Hutch Post reports he had also worked as a newspaper reporter at the Hutchinson News and as an assignment editor for a Wichita television station.
The Hutch Post reports Jurgens possibly had been trading bonds for sexual favors.
