A Hutchinson man is accused of using a hidden camera to watch a female employee while she tanned at his dog kennel and grooming business.
The owner of Pampered Paws, Terry Bryan, 42, will be arraigned next week on a felony eavesdropping charge.
During Bryan's preliminary hearing Wednesday, a former employee told the court Bryan had a tanning bed in a backroom that he allowed employees to use as long as they told him beforehand. She says the backroom was an area nobody ever went otherwise.
She told the court that on September 19, 2012, she used the tanning bed and then noticed a camera. She says it was covered in a towel with a hole cut out for the lens.
When police investigated they found the camera was wirelessly connected to a monitor in Bryan's office. Officers say the camera would have shown the legs of someone walking in and their body inside the tanning bed.
Bryan's lawyer, Michael Whalen, declined an on camera interview but did speak to KAKE News over the phone. He only would reiterate what he said in court Wednesday.
He says Bryan is not guilty and that will be proven in court. He says the case doesn't meet state eavesdropping guidelines, and prosecutors cannot prove Bryan was watching the monitor. He also says although images may have been transmitted, nothing was recorded.
