A Hoisington man has died after being ran over by a semi truck in Barton County.
It happened on K-4, about four miles east of U-281, around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a semi was traveling east when the driver saw a pedestrian in the middle of the highway. The driver swerved to the right shoulder to avoid an accident. The driver said the pedestrian then made a diving move toward the semi, and was struck by rear dual tires.
Authorities said the pedestrian died at the scene.
The truck driver was not hurt.
