UPDATE: Witness comes forward in fatal hit and run case

TOPEKA, Kan. -- UPDATE: The Kansas Highway Patrol said Friday that the witness in the surveillance photos above came forward and spoke with troopers.

The KHP made the announcement through their social media accounts Friday morning. Even though, they said questions still remain in the crash that killed Scott Burton.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call Master Trooper Mike Robinson at (316) 744-0451.

The Kansas Highway Patrol today released photos of a possible witness to an accident earlier this month that killed a Wichita tow truck driver.

Scott Burton was killed November 5th when he was hit by a vehicle in Stafford County. Burton was trying to tow a bus along US Highway 50 when he was struck.

The hit and run driver has not been located.

The Kansas Highway Patrol is asking for the public's assistance in locating a witness to the crash. The man in the photos (center) above stopped at the Ameripride gas station in Stafford asking employees to call 911 to report a crash.

Troopers want to speak with this man to gather additional information on the case. Anyone with information on this person's identity or other details on the case is asked to call (316) 744-0451.
