Authorities have released the identity of man who was killed in a fiery crash in Harvey County earlier this week.
Tuesday shortly before 6 p.m., a Toyota Rav4 was westbound on K-196 when it left the roadway and crashed into a northbound I-135 bridge pillar.
The driver, 21-year-old Alex S. Valentine of Valley Center, was killed in the crash.

Authorities in Harvey County are still awaiting the positive identification of a person killed in a crash last night.
The crash happened on K-196 at I-135 just before 6 p.m. Tuesday. The driver was westbound on K-196 when he left the roadway and crash into one of the pillars of the I-135 overpass.
They still believe they know the identity of the driver who died in the crash, but are still waiting for positive identification. Dental records have been requested through the Sedgwick County Forensic Center.

A young man has died in a crash in Harvey County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the accident happened shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday on K-196 at Interstate 135. Authorities say the man driving a Toyota Rav4, traveling westbound on 196, when he struck the bridge support in the northbound lanes of I-135. The vehicle then caught on fire.
The Highway Patrol says they believe they have the correct identity of the man, who is believed to be between 19 to 20-years-old. His family has been contacted, but his name will not be released until his body has been positively identified.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident. The Highway Patrol tells KAKE News that the northbound, outside lane of Interstate 135 will remained closed at K-196 until the Kansas Department of Transportation has had time to inspect the bridge support.
