High winds in Western Kansas have caused serious problems.

Dust kicked up by the wind lead to near-blackout conditions on several highways leading to accidents Monday.

Highway K-27, and U.S. Highway 83 from the U.S. 83/U.S. 83 Business junction south of Garden City to the junction of U.S. 83, U.S. 160 and K 144 in Haskell County were closed due to multiple accidents. I-70 from Goodland to the Colorado was shut down as well due to low visibility. K-96 in Greeley County was also closed.

All roads and highways have now been reopened.
