HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Heavy rains falling in a short amount of time have caused some minor flooding problems in parts of south central Kansas.

Late Friday morning, the Hutchinson Fire Department was dispatched to Carey Park at the railroad crossing for a car that was stuck in the water. Firefighters were able to help two elderly people out of the car, and out of the water.

They were not hurt, and fire crews escorted them to a nearby police vehicle so they could warm up.
