A head-on crash in southern Sedgwick County left three people injured overnight.
It started shortly after midnight, when an SUV driver slowed down on South Broadway at Hazel. A writer claiming to be that driver left a note on the KAKE News Facebook page, claiming "tree logs were scattered" across the northbound lanes.
Police say a driver then tried to pass the SUV, but crossed the center line and collided with a car heading the other direction. The SUV driver says they hit "at full speed," or 45 miles per hour.
Two women in the southbound car were hurt, along with a six-year-old girl. Police say their injuries are not considered critical. The driver who attempted to pass the SUV was cited by police.
