Authorities have released the name of the 14-year-old boy whose body was pulled from Wellington Lake Tuesday morning.

Travis James Webb of Haysville, was with friends at the lake Monday afternoon when he went under the water and did not come back up.

Webb had gone to the lake with family friends. Crews searched for nearly three hours Monday evening for Webb before it became too dark to continue to safely search.

Authorities returned to the lake Tuesday morning where Webb's body was recovered shortly after 8 a.m. The strong wind gusts Monday afternoon, Wellington Police Chief Tracy Heath said the strong wind gusts Monday, which topped out at nearly 40 mph, may have contributed to the drowning.
