GREAT BEND, Kan. -- A Great Bend day care has had its license suspended after investigators determined a child in care suffered a brain injury. The emergency suspension was ordered for Rhonda's Day Care Home, 901 Stone.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment found an 8-month-old was taken to the emergency room in August when it was observed as being lethargic. The child was hospitalized with injuries, including a non-accidental brain injury. Doctors determined the brain injury happened while the child was in the care of the day care facility.
The day care provider can request a hearing on the matter.
