GARDEN CITY, Kan. — The Garden City Police Department is investigating allegations of sexual exploitation of children.

In January, Garden City High School officials notified police after a student reported that nude photographs taken when she was 13 were being passed around by multiple high school students via phone messaging.

During the course of the investigation, Garden City Police say six suspects have been identified, ranging in age from 14 to 18 years old, along with two victims, ages 14 to 16. Information also led investigators to look into allegations of solicitation of nude photos of teenage girls.

Police say several other potential witnesses, victims and witnesses have been identified, but they're refusing to cooperate with authorities.

No arrests have yet been made, but police have filed affidavits with the Finney County Attorney's Office requesting charges of electronic solicitation of a child, sexual exploitation of a child, promoting obscenities to minors and interference with a law enforcement officer.
