Funerals have been scheduled for two people who were shot to death last week in Greenwood County.
Last Wednesday, 54-year-old Keith K. Kriesel, 52-year-old Sheila L. Kriesel and 26-year-old Catherine Scheff were shot at a Eureka home. The Kriesels were killed, and Scheff is still hospitalized. Scheff is Sheila Kriesel's daughter.
Authorities have said the shooting stemmed from domestic violence, as Scheff had previously been involved in a relationship with the suspect, 35-year-old Kevin R. Welsh. Law enforcement officers are still searching for Welsh, and Governor Sam Brownback has authorized a $5,000 reward for information leading to his apprehension.
Visitation for the Kriesels will be held Friday, October 11 at the Koup Family Funeral Home from 5 until 7 p.m. Their funeral is scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Eureka High School auditorium.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established: The Sheila and Keith Kalen Kriesel Family Benefit Fund. Contributions may be sent in care of the Koup Family Funeral Home, PO Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045.
