UPDATE: Officials say Ft. Hood received threatening phone call

Ft. Hood, Tex. (KWTX) -- Fort Hood was temporarily closed to inbound traffic Thursday afternoon, in response to a threatening phone call, Fort Hood police Capt. Jonathan Kaehler said.

No further details were immediately released. Information was erroneously circulated indicating the post was locked down. Vehicles were leaving the post without problem Thursday afternoon.

The post issued a brief statement that said “PRECAUTIONARY SECURITY MEASURES ENACTED...Effective immediately, all inbound traffic into Fort Hood has been blocked at all access control points due to a potential force protection issue. All outbound traffic is flowing normally. We will update this status when appropriate."
