WICHITA, Kan. - If you're concerned you might have the AIDS virus, there's an opportunity Friday to find out for free. Screenings are planned at several places in Wichita.
National HIV Testing Day has become an annual event. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggests everyone should be tested, between ages 13 and 64. Experts say 20 percent of all U,S, residents with the AIDS virus do not know they're infected.
These locations are offering free screenings:
* The Sedgwick County Health Department, Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
* The K.U. Midtown Clinic, 1001 N. Minneapolis, Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
* Walgreens, 2716 W. Central, Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The Midtown Clinic promises you can find out within 20 minutes whether or not you're infected with HIV.
