Former girls softball coach faces child sex charge

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) — A former assistant coach for a Topeka girls fastpitch softball team faces a child sex charge. Thirty-seven year-old Arthur Sheltrown was arrested August 22.

Sheltrown was an assistant coach with the Topeka Storm Girls Softball organization, but was dismissed after the arrest.

The charge listed by the Shawnee County District Attorney's office is Aggravated Indecent Liberties With a Child -- Lewd Fondling a Child 14 to 16 Years Old Without Consent.

Sheltrown has a court appearance scheduled September 4 on the charge.
