A former Kansas coach has been arrested for child sex crimes in Oklahoma.
Police in Enid, Oklahoma arrested 38-year-old Enid resident Patrick Leon Watts for lewd molestation and forcible sodomy.
The investigation began when Pratt, Kansas police sent a report to police in Enid alleging that Watts had sexually assaulted a juvenile about two years ago in Oklahoma. Pratt Police do not believe there are any other possible victims in their area.
Enid Police told KFOR-TV in Oklahoma city that Watts had taken a 13-year-old boy to a wrestling match at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. On the way back the pair reportedly stayed at an Enid motel, and that's where the alleged sex crimes happened.
Watts moved to Enid before these allegations were made, and was arrested today.
He's currently a bus driver at Emerson Middle School in Enid. Police are asking for the public's help, because they believe there could be more victims in both states.
Watts was formerly a Kids Club wrestling and baseball coach in Pratt.
Wednesday, Enid Public Schools issued the following statement:
Nothing is more important than the safety of our students, and the district does everything possible to ensure their safety. Today we were notified by the Enid Police Department that a bus driver had been arrested on allegations of inappropriate interaction with a minor from another state. We are investigating the situation, and the employee is no longer performing his duties with the district.
