Flying Turkey Blamed For Reno County Crash

A Larned couple escaped serious injury today when a turkey crashed through the windshield of their vehicle.

The accident happened before 9 a.m. Monday on U-S Highway 50 near Salem Road. Reno County authorities said David Miller was driving his SUV eastbound when the turkey flew into his windshield.

The turkey went through the windshield, before coming to rest in the lap of passenger Dena Miller.

David Miller was treated at the scene for minor cuts and glass in his eyes. Dena Miller was not hurt. The turkey did not survive.
