Fire investigators are searching for a cause after a blaze destroyed a home machine shop.
It happened on 159th St. E., south of 31st St. S. just after noon Tuesday.
Crews arrived to find a 30x40 building fully involved upon arrival. The fire also quickly spread to a nearby shed. Div. Chief David Williams, Sedgwick County fire, said first responders protected a home on the property until additional units arrived.
Homeowner Dave Taylor said he lost everything in the fire.
“I had tools, tractors and mowers,” Taylor said. “Every tool known to mankind was in there.”
Taylor said he was thankful the blaze did not spread to the rest of the property, or that anyone was hurt.
A damage estimate has not been released.
