No one was hurt after fire broke out inside of the garage of a home near Hurst and Linden Wednesday night. Firefighters responded to the neighborhood near Pawnee and Webb Road to find heavy flames coming from the garage.
Crews were able to quickly knock it down and bring the fire under control, but there was some extension into the attic, according to Battalion Chief Tom Carney.
The cause of the fire is unclear. Neighbors reported hearing and explosion prior to the fire.
Four adults and two children were able to escape safely and there were no injuries. Damage is estimated at $80,000 to the home and contents.
