HAYSVILLE, Kan. — A fire caused extensive damage to part of a Haysville home early Monday.
A neighbor called 911 shortly before 7 a.m. after seeing smoke coming from a home in the 6100 block of West 73rd Street South. When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the rear of the house.
Sedgwick County and Wichita firefighters extinguished the fire, which had spread to the attic. No one was home.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage is estimated at approximately $30,000.
