Wichita, Kan. -- Firefighters battled a fire at a trucking company Monday evening near 47th Street South and Hydraulic.
It happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. at Price Truck Line, located in the 4900 block of South Victoria. Deputy Fire Chief Tammy Snow says when crews arrived on scene, the found heavy fire and smoke coming from inside what appears to be a mechanic's shop.
Firefighters had to force entry into the building and found a fire that had started in the engine compartment of a semi-truck and spread up into the roof insulation of the building.
Crews also had to deal with the large number of acetylene and propane bottles that were inside the building that posed an explosion danger.
Fire officials estimate the damage at $200,000 to the structure and $100,000 to contents. The cause remains under investigation.
