COFFEYVILLE, Kan. (AP) — A fire broke out at a refinery in the Coffeyville area early Tuesday, sending four people to the hospital with burns.
CVR Refining says the fire broke out in the plant's isomerization unit around 12:30 a.m. The fire was extinguished about 45 minutes later, and a refinery shutdown was conducted.
Four employees were injured and hospitalized. Other information, including their current conditions, were not available.
CVR said all other employees were accounted for and there was no impact to the surrounding community.
The refinery's website indicates it can produce 115,000 barrels of oil per day.
