Wichita fire investigators will spend the morning trying to determine what sparked an early morning fire that destroyed a South Wichita home.
The fire happened just before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. It was in the 900 block of South Main.
When firefighters arrived, much of the house was destroyed by fire. Crews were forced to fight the blaze from outside to keep the situation from getting any worse.
The home was vacant at the time, so no one was hurt. Battalion Chief Sid Newby said the home is a total loss.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
