Firefighters made quick work of a north Wichita house fire Tuesday morning.
Fire broke out shortly after 8 a.m. at a home in the 2400 block of North Grove. Initial crews on scene reported flames showing from the front room of the home.
They asked a neighbor if anyone lived there, but they said no. Then a teenager jumped from one of the windows of the home that was on fire.
Firefighters went in and rescued a dog that was in the kitchen. The fire was extinguished about 10 minutes later, and was mostly contained to the living room.
The fire department said a woman and her children live at the home, but that the teen was the only family member home at the time. The cause and damage estimate are not yet available.
