Investigators are trying to determine what sparked a fire at a vacant south Wichita home early Sunday morning.
Firefighters were called around 1 a.m. to the 400 block of Evans Street, near 31st Street South and Broadway. Upon arrival, heavy smoke and flames were seen emanating from the small one-story home.
Several vehicles along the narrow road made access to the home difficult, but crews were still able to bring the fire under control quickly.
Neighbors told firefighters that people are often seen going in and out of the vacant home. No one was found inside.
The fire remains under investigation, and a damage estimate has yet to be determined.
