Federal Charges Filed In Meth Trafficking Probe

Seven Wichita men have been charged in connection to methamphetamine trafficking.

Federal prosecutors said investigators seized approximately eight pounds of methamphetamine and more than $66,000 in cash from the traffickers during a two-day operation.

Prosecutors charged Victor Casarez-Ramirez, 26, with one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine; Diego Beltran-Vega, 42, with one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine; Hector Medina-Hernandez, 29, with one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine; Cesar Hernandez, 34, with one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine; Israel Ramirez-Unzetta, 23, with one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine; Robert J. Slater, 53, with one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine; Javier Aldrete, 31, with one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

Two other people are charged with immigration violations.

If convicted, the suspects face jail time and fines.
