A 26-year-old man is in jail, and his father is at a Wichita hospital following a domestic violence incident late Friday morning at a McPherson motel.
It happened just before 11:30 a.m at the Wheat State Motel. McPherson police said in a news release that they responded to a call regarding an "unresponsive and bleeding male subject." When they arrived on scene, they found a 51-year-old man "bleeding profusely from the head" in one of the rooms. They also saw a possible suspect run into another room. Officers said he was armed with a knife. He was tased and taken into custody.
Both the suspect and the victim were taken to a local hospital. The suspect was treated and released, but his father was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita with life-threatening injuries.
The suspect faces two counts of aggravated battery domestic violence, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, burglary and criminal damage.
Police said the suspect was arrested Thursday for two counts of battery against his father and bonded out of jail prior to this incident.
Police said both men are from Texas, the son from Ft. Worth and the father from Fritch.
