ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Brian Foster said he’s anxious to see K-State take the court. The team is making its fifth-straight appearance in the tournament — after a long stretch where the team hadn’t gone in years.

“You can catch them all in one place,” he said. “It doesn’t happen very often. It’s very exciting for us.”

Foster and his family are from Topeka and plan to indulge in this rare moment in Kansas sports history.

He anticipates great things for Wichita State, returning from its Final Four appearance last year and defending it’s perfect record this year.

If K-State and Wichita State advance beyond their games Friday, the teams would face a whole new Sunflower Showdown.

“We hope that happens. We hope that Kentucky doesn’t play as well and K-State gets by them,” Foster said. “I think Wichita State won’t have a problem, but I think K-State might have a tougher matchup.

Of all the Kansas teams, Foster anticipates KU will make it the furthest because “they’re always good. Plain and simple.”
