Police are searching for suspects who used fake vouchers to purchase thousands of dollars worth of clothes from Wichita JCPenney stores.
Nine suspects are accused of making fake vouchers from the state offices of the Kansas Department of Children and Families. They then used the vouchers at JCPenney stores at Towne East and Towne West malls, buying more than $5,000 worth of clothing from July 11 to July 25.
Store personnel only recently discovered the vouchers were fake.
Officers are looking for the suspects, but so far no arrests have been made. The Kansas Department of Children and Families is also investigating.
