A woman who testified in a preliminary hearing trial against two Hutchinson murder suspects has been bound over on perjury charges.
The perjury charge stems from testimony Dana Craig gave during the preliminary hearing for Billie Joe Craig and Charles Christopher Logsdon concerning her ex-husband's whereabouts on the night Jennifer Heckel was murdered.
The 27-year-old was found shot to death in her kitchen June 14, 2011. Police said Heckel was killed over a case of mistaken identity.
In Reno County District Court Thursday, a judge found there was enough evidence for Dana Craig's case to go to trial. The Hutch Post reports prosecutors and defense attorneys have 10 days to submit whether she should be charged with a level 7 or level 9 felony.
Dana Craig's trial date has not yet been scheduled.
Logsdon's first-degree murder trial is set to begin Oct. 22. Craig's was scheduled for Nov. 14, but a judge recently granted a continuance in the case.
