WICHITA, Kan, - A man died several weeks ago while sleeping under the Seneca Street bridge. Now one agency wants to get a better idea of how many homeless people Wichita has.

The United Way of the Plains is hosting what's called a "Homeless Count and Services Event' at Century II Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Volunteers will gather information for the community to plan, while providing housing and support.

Services for the homeless will include information about housing and benefits; socks, hats and gloves; haircuts; flu shots; vision, hearing and dental screenings.
