Three suspects in an east Wichita residential burglary crashed their vehicle Saturday afternoon as a witness followed them.
Sgt. Bart Brunscheen said the witness heard glass breaking at around 3:40 p.m. in the 900 block of South Royal, near Lincoln and Woodlawn, and then saw two men exit the front door of a residence and leave in a brown vehicle.
The witness got in his car and followed. The suspects, after realizing they were being followed, crashed in the 400 block of South Grove, Brunscheen said.
Police were able to locate two male suspects, ages 21 and 17. They were arrested for aggravated burglary.
Officers could not find the driver. He is described as a 20-year-old black male, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 230 pounds. He was last seen wearing a brown hoodie. Brunscheen said there may be one additional suspect.
Brunscheen said officers recovered "a large amount of marijuana," some paraphernalia and a handgun.
