Aftershocks Continue After OK Earthquake

A total of five aftershocks have been recorded since the original quake hit at 2:12 AM. The latest quake happened at 6:24 AM Central Time about 41 miles east of Oklahoma City. It measured 3.3 on the Richter Scale.

There are no reports of serious damage or injuries.

Authorities say three earthquakes that have shaken much of central Oklahoma could be felt as far away as Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas.

The U.S. Geological Survey says on its website early Saturday morning that a 4.7 magnitude earthquake struck at 2:12 a.m., with
an epicenter about six miles north of Prague in southern Lincoln County. That's about 50 miles east of Oklahoma City.

A 3.4 magnitude aftershock was reported at 2:27 a.m. from the same location.

The survey says a 2.7 magnitude quake also was recorded at 2:44
a.m. Lincoln County sheriff officials say there have been no reports
of injuries but several people have reported items falling off walls.

Oklahoma City police officials say they have received several 911 calls, but have no reports of injuries or damage.

There have been three aftershocks from the original earthquake that was epicentered near Oklahoma City this morning. The latest tremor happened at 2:50 AM. It was 44 miles east of Oklahoma City and measured 2.7 on the Richter scale.

The US Geological Survey confirms that an earthquake rattled much of Oklahoma and Southern Kansas just after midnight Saturday morning.

The temblor came in at 4.7 on the Richter scale at 2:27 AM Central Time Saturday.

We have received many phone calls here in the KAKE Newsroom. One lady reported her bed shook and windows rattled in Park City. Another man in Clearwater reported that his entire house was shaking.
