Wichita, Kan. -- Two puppies discarded like trash into a refuse dumpster in south Wichita are doing well and ready for adoption.
Right now the puppies are staying in foster care homes.
But February 14th a worker at the Bread of Life Food ministry discovered the pups when taking out trash to the dumpster. Police were called, the dogs were rescue and got veterinary aid.
The animal rescue team called K-9 Karma Kansas Dog Rescue, Inc. put the dogs into volunteer foster care homes until they were ready for adoption.
Well, that time has come The puppies -- now named Boogie and Bitsy -- are ready for new homes with caring families.
K-9 Karma foster volunteer Nancy Venditti says, "Boogey doesn't really know a stranger. She likes everybody. I've never had a problem taking her anywhere."
K-9 Karma foster volunteer Tammy Johnson says of Bitsy, "I think she's very adoptable. I think we'll be able to. She's doing great. She's really come out of her shell."
