WICHITA, Kan.-- Last week, drivers welcomed the salt and sand spread on Wichita roads to melt the snow.
This week, drivers cannot wait to remove that treatment off their cars.
"I couldn't stand the look of my dirty car anymore," said Amy Claphan, Wichita resident.
"I've gotta wash my truck, gotta get off that salt off the chrome," said JD Sullivan, Wichita Resident.
Several people were waiting to get their cars cleaned at Joe's Car Wash. The owner, Duane Steven, said it is important for people to wash their cars.
"It will eat the metal from your car and it'll rust everything underneath. So, you always want to wash it with good soap and water, touchless, and always wash the under body, get all that salt away," said Steven.
Sullivan, who chose to do the self-service car wash, said he also recommends that people wear gloves as it remains cool outside and walking carefully on icy spots.
