If you need a drivers license you have an additional day to get it. The Wichita Twin Lakes DMV office, 1823 W. 21st North, will be open Mondays for the next two months. The only other office to add Monday hours is in Mission, Kansas.

Kansas drivers license offices switched to 4 day a week operations in the 1980s. Last year was the first time to add Monday hours. Summer is the busiest time for drivers license offices.

"We've got a lot of teenagers out of school and they're coming in to get their drivers licenses their permits, they need drive tests which take more time," said Kansas Department of Revenue spokesperson Jeannine Koranda. "And so the lines are just longer and it's been one of those problems that we've been kind of looking at how do we solve."

Monday hours at the Wichita office will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
