Wichita, Kan. Law officers in Wichita responded to a burglary call Thursday night, and wound up in a short chase with a suspect which ended with a crash where it began.
Lt. Jason Gill with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department says the suspected burglar was at a house in the 2000 block of South Seneca when officers arrived. The suspect's truck reportedly tried to leave, leading to a three-minute chase up and down Seneca.
Gill says the chase ended with the truck crashing through the front door of the house where the trouble started. "It's uncommon for someone to try to make a front door bigger," Gill admitted to reporters.
No one was hurt, but Gill says the suspect will face charges ranging from drunk driving to aggravated battery.
KAKE News talked briefly Friday morning with the woman living inside the home. She didn't want to appear on camera, but called the incident frightening. She says she was in a back room when the crash happened - apparently on the phone with 911.
Gill adds the suspect knows the person living at the house where the trouble occurred. They reportedly have "domestic issues."
