The new driver licensing office in Derby is open giving Sedgwick County two offices for the first time in more than a decade.
The Kansas Department of Revenue has added 10 full-time staff members in Derby.
In addition to the new office in Derby, the Kansas Department of Revenue has added staff in Andover and tripled the office size there. It is the first increase in office space there in almost two decades.
The Derby office, in the Bristol Square Shopping Center, 620 N. Rock Road, Suite 300, will be open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., testing will not begin after 4 p.m.
The office also features QLess, a line management system that allows people to get in line online before they arrive at the office.
Derby customers can text Derby DL to 626-609-1234 or join the line from their computer at http://www.ksrevenue.org/qless.html. The system tracks a person’s spot in line and alerts them by text message as they near the front of the line.
