A Silver Lake, Kansas woman was killed when her car rolled after she tried to avoid hitting a deer. The accident happened late Sunday night on I-70 in Wabaunsee County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said Kayla Lowrey's car was westbound when a deer ran in front of the vehicle. Lowrey hit the brakes, sending the car into a skid. The car entered the median, then rolled several times across the eastbound lanes.
Lowrey died in the accident. A passenger, Grace Holmes, of Topeka, was taken to a Topeka medical center for treatment.
