WICHITA -- Police are searching for a man they say robbed an east Wichita store at gunpoint. It happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Dollar General in the 1600 block of East Central.
Officials say a man walked into the store with a gun and demanded everyone get down on the floor. He forced the clerks to hand over money from the safe and cigarettes. He was last seen walking from the store.
The robber is described as a black male in his 20s or 30s who is about 5-foot-6-inches tall. He was armed with a black handgun and was wearing a camouflage ski mask and blue jeans.
Police also want to talk to a man and woman who were in the store a few minutes before the robbery happened. They believe the couple may know something about the crime.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
