WICHITA, Kan. — A Wichita doctor was arrested and booked for reckless driving and driving under the influence after crashing into a house on Friday night.

"It makes me heartbroken and sad that this happened. Somebody could've been killed," said Carrie Fuller, neighbor.

An arrest report shows 38-year-old Jeremy Howes was arrested for the crash that happened near Ridge and 34th Street in Northwest Wichita.

Wichita Surgical Specialists confirmed that Howes is a surgeon for their group.

The homeowners' surveillance video shows a woman watering the plants in her front yard, just before 9 p.m. The police report states that she saw a Mustang come around the curve on 34th Street at a high rate of speed.

The video shows the woman move of the way just a split second before the car hits the side of the house and the car goes into the garage.

"It's horrible," said Leigh Tinkham, neighbor. "She could've really gotten hurt bad."

KAKE News received an email from Wichita Surgical Specialists with the following message:

"We can confirm that Dr. Howes is a surgeon with our group, and are grateful, as I’m sure you are, that no one was injured in the accident. We have no further information for you," said Kari Clark, administrator.

The case will be turned over to municipal court.
