A dive team has recovered the body of a Fariview woman who was found inside a car that left a highway in southern Johnson County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol tells KMBC-TV that a trooper traveling along U.S. 69 Highway near 167th Street south of Overland Park saw tire marks indicating a crash near Blue River. The highway patrol began a search of the area.

Divers discovered the woman's car upside down and in the water. She was found alone inside.

The woman is identified as 20-year-old Anousha Ann Shirazi. Troopers say it appears that Shirazi drifted off the roadway into the center median, came back onto the road and struck a bridge guard rail.

Her car then flipped over the side off of the bridge and down into the river. It's unknown what time the crash occurred and how long the accident went undiscovered.
