TRENTON, Mo. (AP) -- Authorities report a few homes damaged in rural northwest Missouri after thunderstorms and at least one tornado swept across the region.
Numerous funnel clouds were also seen Thursday afternoon in western parts of the state, but there were no reports of injuries.
In Daviess County, emergency dispatcher Dana Carder said high winds damaged two homes in Jameson and a mobile home in Winston. The extent of the damage was not immediately clear.
Farther north, tornadoes were reported by law enforcement officials and trained spotters for the National Weather Service near the Grundy County communities of Spickard and Trenton. Officials said it was possible the sightings were of the same tornado.
Hail and heavy rain pelted other parts of western Missouri from the Iowa border to the Arkansas state line Thursday.
