Police arrested a man on Father's Day for allegedly leaving his three year old child inside a hot car while he was inside a southwest Wichita fast food restaurant with his three older children.
It happened shortly after 5:30 p.m. Sunday at McDonald's at 2437 S. West St. According to Wichita Police, two people noticed the child had been in the car for about 30 minutes and called 911.
"Obviously someone was paying attention and that's the key," Lt. Doug Nolte said.
Officers arrived and removed the three year old from the car. The heat index was at about 95 degrees but the child was not hurt.
Police arrested their father for child endangerment. All of the children were released to other family members.
